Aptamers are short, synthetic nucleic-acid sequences that fold into precise shapes and bind a chosen target with antibody-like specificity — but chemically synthesized, so they're stable, reproducible, and inexpensive at scale.
AptaSure™ uses a cognate pair of aptamers, each carrying gold-nanoparticle signal, that lock onto the MRSA resistance protein pbp2a at two distinct sites. That two-point binding is what drives sensitivity and selectivity — and resolves to a simple colored line.
